Prof. Jens Scherpe travelled to South Africa to give guest lectures at the University of Stellenbosch and the University of the Western Cape (where he is an Extraordinary Professor) on 12 and 13 March 2024.
After that he gave two conference presentations in Cape Town at the biggest African family law conference, the 26th Annual Family Law Conference organised by Zenobia du Toit of the leading South African family law firm, Miller Du Toit Cloete, and Prof. Julia Sloth-Nielsen of the University of the Western Cape.
Scherpe spoke on ‘A comparative view on the legal status of de facto relationships’ and gave an update on the developments in the law of surrogacy in Europe in general and in Denmark in particular.
